S.I.MO has been working in the contract machining sector, and more specifically in the cold forming of sheet steel, for more than sixty years.
Founded in 1946 as a small workshop through the determination of grandfather Bruno Morandi, in the Sixties it passed into the hands of his son Giacomo Morandi, who specialised in artisan contract machining, serving the Emilia Region’s thriving agricultural equipment industry in particular. In 1990 the company became S.I.MO srl (a limited liability firm) in a third, highly significant generational handover to Giacomo’s children Daniela, Donatella and Paolo Morandi, who started a process of upgrading, control and industrialisation of the machining operations, adding new machinery and operating in line with quality standards. The market was swift to respond, thanks in part to the many marketing initiatives launched, and in just a few years S.I.MO rapidly increased its turnover by consolidating its relations with established customers and acquiring new clientele working in different product sectors.
Today S.I.MO has based its growth and flexibility on the development of know-how and technology, specialising in processes and service (feasibility studies and proposals, identification of the suitable equipment, maintenance, work on the customer’s premises, logistics and transport). These are all essential characteristics for customers in search of a capable, reliable partner able to respond quickly to needs.
